Purpose and Scope of Job:
Coordinate activities of workers that involve shipping orders, materials, supplies, tools, equipment or parts, receiving and put-away of incoming materials and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of warehouse stock.
Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):
Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees Ensure security of facilities during designated shift hours Enforce all safety, quality, and standard work procedures Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of shipping/receiving and warehouse activities.
Ensure proper execution and implementation of all policies procedures with regard to receiving, packing, shipping, and inventory management.
Manage outbound shipping processes to ensure shipments are completed on time and accurately Manage receiving and put-away processes to ensure timely availability and preservation of stock and FIFO protocols Maintain communication with various departments regarding shipping issues or delays.
Maintain a clean and safe work place in accordance with 5S protocol Investigate and report all incidents (quality issues, spills, accidents, poor performance) Engage in daily tasks including process improvement, inventory, evaluating, controlling and tracking against goals, budget, and timetables.
Ensure all metrics and reports are completed and communicated in a timely manner.
Maintain physical condition and safety of warehouse and equipment, enforcing daily forklift and hoist/crane audits.
Train and coach shipping staff on effective inventory techniques and daily shipping and receiving tasks.
Perform related duties as assigned or as situations dictate Minimum
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Three (3) to Four (4) years warehouse distribution and/or Shipping experience.
One (1) year of Team Leadership experience Basic math skills Basic understanding of computers Must have clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written and be detail oriented Any additional essential skills and/or knowledge as shown in the HRIS Career & Education > Skills section for incumbents holding this job title.
