Purpose and Scope of Job:
Prepare and clean assembled products for coating application and apply coatings.
Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):
Clean and prepare assembled products for coating application.
Applies masking tape or jigs to protect various surfaces before wash.
Maintaining unit traceability, prepares surfaces for painting:
automatic or manual wash system.
Utilize sprayer to apply paint to a variety of products, according to company specifications.
Mix standard paint colors and thinners to obtain proper viscosity; adjust as necessary Maintain spray paint equipment in proper working condition.
Replace nozzles and other gun components.
Flush and clean paint system circulation and filtering lines and components.
Replenish painting supply as necessary.
Other duties as assigned Minimum
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) years of painting experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
Previous high volume, low pressure (HVLP) industrial spray application experience.
Any additional essential skills and/or knowledge as shown in the HRIS Career & Education > Skills section for incumbents holding this job title.
Work Conditions & Physical Environment:
Duties are performed in an industrial environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; twist; bend; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee is frequently required to walk.
The employee must constantly lift, carry, move, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
The employee may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
